About Us
A group subsidiary of Dragon Oil, called Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Limited, is responsible for developing the company’s asset in the Cheleken Contract Area, off the coast of Turkmenistan. Dragon Oil has its headquarters in Dubai. In November 1999, a production sharing agreement (also known as the “PSA”) was struck with a state-run organisation of the Turkmenistan government. It went into force in May 2000. The 25-year term of the PSA expires in May 2025, after which Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Limited will have the only right to seek an extension for another period of at least 10 year.
At the end of June 2008, Dragon Oil has gas reserves of 3.2 trillion cubic feet and proven and probable oil reserves totaling 645 million barrels.
