The commercial and investment branch of NOGA of the Kingdom of Bahrain, known as nogaholding, has control of the company entirely as of July 2016. It oversees the government’s interests in numerous energy-related businesses. Tatweer Petroleum now has oversight over all oil and gas operations in the Kingdom, including gas sales and distribution as well as those involving oil and gas exploration, development, and production.

Despite the hurdles brought on by the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Tatweer Petroleum maintained its high production performance and successfully completed the 2020 Annual Work Program and Budget (AWPB) without experiencing any substantial deviations. Production increases were mostly due to the drilling of extra wells, the completion of the Ostracod-Magwa (OST/MAG) hydraulic fracturing project, and the partial commissioning of Phase V compression.
Thirteen (13) Khuff gas wells have been drilled since Tatweer Petroleum was founded in 2010, totaling 1,303 new wells. One hundred sixty-four (164) new oil wells and five new gas wells were drilled in the Khuff in 2020.
