DORTMUND 1-1 VFL BOCHUM: DORTMUND’S FRUSTRATION DOUBLED WITH DRAW

Friday saved the sovereign Bundesliga club team Borussia Dortmund’s prominence by a draw when their fellow club member VfL Bochum roared tenaciously after an 11-year hiatus. The 35th League game kicked off between the two German teams: Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum who clashed at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion on the 28th of April.

Match Record

The 1848 club member, VfL Bochum showcased an eye-catching pitch performance leaving Dortmund bewildered to tackle their solid defenses. Dortmund Coach Edin Terzic emotionally exclaimed how their odds-on game plan couldn’t withstand an intense fight.

Borussia Dortmund’s attacks turned hapless within just 5 minutes into the game when Bochum’s captain Anthony Losilla bowled over with a score ground of 1-0. Nevertheless, the excitement soon plunged into anticipation as Dortmund’s ace player Karim Adeyemi turned the tables around by equalizing at the back post.

The latter half of the game proceeded as each team displayed a vague play outlook. Although the 73rd minute stepped up Dortmund’s goal front by players Marco Reus and Youssoufa. However the forward was soon sidelined by a 75th-minute save by Bochum’s goalkeeper Manuel Riemann.

Post-match analysis

The draw positioned Dortmund at crossroads as they are now leading the board by 61 points with 4 more games to play. But Dortmund is in serious trouble if Bayern Munich reclaims the 4 games with their win against Hertha Berlin. Youssoufa Moukoko bagged the man of the match record.

Dortmund’s game front turned unpromising when the referee blew two penalty shots that didn’t sit well with Coach Edin Terzic’s team. The penalties booked Dortmund’s players Danilo Soares and Mats Hummel at the 65th and last minute of cruising through the game.
